Students with additional needs

Special Education Program

Sunbury State School values an inclusive approach for students with disabilities which caters for their individual needs. In addition to regular classroom teaching and learning programs, Sunbury State School offers the Beehive for these students to access during class time as well as before school and during breaks. Individual Curriculum Plans or Individual Support Plans are established to specify priority goals to be achieved in a six month period. Our Beehive is well-resourced and staffed with experienced special education teachers and teacher aides.

Literacy and Numeracy Support Programs

Learning support is provided for students experiencing learning needs within the areas of Literacy and Numeracy. The school provides programs for students needing intervention and extension. Our school programs are differentiated to meet student needs and encourage engagement and success for individuals.
