Welcome to
Sunbury State School - a small Maryborough state school offering a range
of engaging learning opportunities for approximately 200 students from Prep
through to year 6. Sunbury State School was established in 1891 and
is located amongst well-maintained grounds. The school’s committed staff
provides relevant and stimulating curriculum (Australian Curriculum) within in
a safe and supportive learning environment. We all work towards instilling a love of learning and allow every student
the opportunity to engage in “Learning for Life”.
Sunbury State School’s key priority is to improve academic achievement for all students by focusing on the teaching of reading in every classroom every day. High quality reading programs are
valued across the school, to support success in all learning areas. We maintain
a strong commitment to our core responsibility of educating young people to be
literate and numerate citizens of the future.

as weekly Playgroup sessions, all year round Koalas prep-prep program, high
