Welcome to Sunbury State School

Welcome to Sunbury State School - a small Maryborough state school offering a range of engaging learning opportunities for approximately 200 students from Prep through to year 6. Sunbury State School was established in 1891 and is located amongst well-maintained grounds. The school’s committed staff provides relevant and stimulating curriculum (Australian Curriculum) within in a safe and supportive learning environment. We all work towards instilling a love of learning and allow every student the opportunity to engage in “Learning for Life”.

 

Sunbury State School’s key priorities are: reading, numeracy, upper 2 bands NAPLAN achievement, and attendance. High quality reading programs are valued across the school, to support success in all learning areas. We maintain a strong commitment to our core responsibility of educating young people to be literate and numerate citizens of the future.

 

Sunbury State School boasts excellent early learning opportunities from Prep to year 6 such as weekly Playgroup sessions, all year round Koalas prep-prep program, high quality Prep teaching and learning programs, through to exciting leadership transitions into high school.  

 

Our school has a very positive, well-resourced learning environment offering a quality curriculum.
