KOALAS Early Learning Program (Pre-Prep)

Give your child a confident start to school with KOALAS—our free, play-based program for pre-Prep children and their parents.

When: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8:50–10:50am (during the school year)
Who: Children in the pre-Prep year (parents/carers attend with their child)
Cost: Free

What children experience

  • Early literacy and numeracy foundations through purposeful play

  • School-readiness skills: listening, sharing, taking turns, following routines

  • A warm, welcoming environment that builds confidence and curiosity

Why families love it

  • Gentle transition to Prep with familiar faces and spaces

  • Parents/carers learn alongside their child and connect with other families

  • Led by experienced Sunbury staff with support from a teacher aide

  • Enrolments are open now. Contact the school office to secure a place.

School Chaplaincy

With support from the National School Chaplaincy and Student Welfare Program, Sunbury is fortunate to have our chaplain, Chappy Jason, on site. He’s a friendly, trusted support for students and families—always ready for a chat or to lend a hand.

  • Pastoral care, encouragement and a listening ear

  • Connection to activities that build wellbeing and belonging

  • Available to students, parents and staff

Playgroup (Birth to 5)

Come play, learn and connect at Sunbury Playgroup—a relaxed session for little ones and their grown-ups.

When: Thursdays, 9:00–10:30am
Where: School hall
Who: Children from birth to 5 years and their parents/carers

What to expect

  • Play-based learning experiences and social time

  • A friendly space to meet other families

  • Run in partnership with Anglicare and supported by Playgroup Queensland, helping children transition smoothly into the school environment
