At Sunbury, our Prep program blends strong foundations in literacy with purposeful play and rich, hands-on experiences. It’s welcoming, structured and designed to spark a lifelong love of learning.
What families can expect
Literacy first: Daily immersion in letters, sounds and sight words, building phonemic awareness and early reading confidence.
Balanced learning: The Australian Curriculum delivered through explicit teaching, guided discovery and play-based learning.
Modern spaces: Access to contemporary classrooms and playgrounds that support both gross and fine motor development.
High support: Experienced Prep teachers partnered with full-time teacher aides to maximise individual attention and progress.
Warm transition: Clear routines, gentle onboarding and ongoing communication with families.
Attendance & eligibility
Schedule: Prep runs five days a week for a full day.
Age requirement: Children must turn 5 by 30 June in the year they start Prep.
