Sunbury State School boasts a rich history and heritage within the Maryborough area. Many of our families were former Sunbury students and cherish the opportunity to have their children attend our school. Offering a range of engaging learning opportunities for approximately 200 students from Prep through to year 6, the school is one of the oldest primary
schools in the Maryborough area, and yet is filled with contemporary, technologically advanced learning spaces. Sunbury State School’s motto “Learning for Life”, embraces the high
expectations for the success of all students and staff at our school.
Furthermore our school’s logo was developed by students and their families and thus holds special meaning. The hands on the logo signify helping, support,
co-operation, caring, friendship, warmth, welcome and assistance. The Sunbury
sun/star shows that everyone has the opportunity to shine.
Our school has a warm and welcoming feel and is
proud of our strong community culture and sense of belonging. Our school offers high quality programs, a safe and nurturing environment and multiple opportunities for all students to realise their full potential.
The school’s committed staff provide a relevant and engaging curriculum (Australian Curriculum) within in a safe and supportive learning environment. We all work towards instilling a love of learning and allow every student the opportunity to engage in “Learning for Life”.
Our key improvment priority is to deeply understand every student’s unique needs, nurture their confidence to thrive, and create learning environments that are energised and engaging to have a positive impact on young people’s lives. Together we set goals for student achievement and regularly monitor and support them on their learning journey. We maintain an unwavering commitment to helping every student realise their potential and become lifelong learners.
