At Sunbury State School, inclusion isn’t a program—it’s our practice. We tailor support so students with disabilities can access, participate in and progress through the curriculum alongside their peers.
How we support students
In-class support: Targeted assistance during lessons in partnership with classroom teachers.
Additional access times: Support available before school and during breaks.
Individual planning: Individual Curriculum Plans (ICPs) or Individual Support Plans (ISPs) set priority goals over a six-month cycle, with regular check-ins on progress.
Experienced team: Skilled special education teachers and teacher aides, supported by well-resourced learning spaces.
We work closely with students and families to understand strengths, needs and goals—so every learner feels known, supported and successful.
Literacy & Numeracy Support
Every learner deserves the right help at the right time. Our Literacy and Numeracy programs provide intervention for students who need extra support and extension for those ready to be challenged further.
What this looks like
Differentiated teaching: Classroom programs adjusted to meet individual needs.
Targeted small-group sessions: Focused teaching to build specific skills and confidence.
Data-informed progress: Regular monitoring to track growth and refine support.
Our aim is simple: keep students engaged, build strong foundations and celebrate success for every individual.
