Sunbury State School is a safe, respectful and disciplined learning community. We want every student to engage in high-quality learning and build the values and skills that support lifelong wellbeing. All members of our community uphold the Code of School Behaviour to ensure the best outcomes for students, staff and families.
Our Responsible Behaviour Plan
Our Responsible Behaviour Plan (PDF, 549KB) sets out how we:
Teach and support positive behaviour and high expectations
Respond clearly and consistently to inappropriate behaviour
Keep learning focused so every student can participate positively
It also includes an expectations matrix that defines specific behaviours for classrooms, playgrounds and other settings.
Our four school rules
We teach and promote these school-wide expectations in every area of school life:
Be Safe
Be Responsible
Be Respectful
Apply Effort
How we put this into practice
Explicit teaching of expectations and routines
Positive recognition and celebration of success
Consistent responses and fair consequences
Supportive interventions to help students reset and succeed
Partnerships with families to keep communication open and progress on track
